Through the commitment of Vrumona, our long-standing partner for soft drinks, impactful environmental progress is being made.
Vrumona’s ambitious sustainability goals “achieving 100% CO₂-neutral production by 2027, reducing supply chain emissions, and transitioning to 100% recycled or reused packaging by 2025” align directly with SnowWorld’s dedication to responsible business practices. In addition, Vrumona actively supports the efficiency of our refrigerators and is committed to reducing the sugar content in its drinks.
By fostering cleaner production processes, promoting healthier options, and contributing to greener operations, Vrumona inspires a broader movement toward a sustainable future, reflecting the shared values of sustainability and well-being between SnowWorld and its partners.
SnowWorld is tackling food waste in partnership with Orbisk and Bidfood, beginning with our location in Landgraaf.
By using AI technology to monitor discarded ingredients, we aim to reduce food waste by up to 30%. We’re proud of our Food & Beverage team for leading the way!
We strive to give our retired skis, snowboards, boots, and clothing a second life whenever possible. Materials that are still in good condition are reused by other companies within our industry. Broken skis are entirely dismantled as part of Atomic’s latest initiative, allowing each component to be recycled.
SnowWorld provides a collection point for broken ski boots, accessible to all winter sports enthusiasts in the Netherlands. These old boots are shredded and fully transformed into new ski boots, contributing to a sustainable cycle in winter sports gear.
SnowWorld is actively developing an innovative, circular snow production process. Traditionally, all snow was removed from the slopes each summer and melted outdoors, but this new approach will allow SnowWorld to recycle snow using residual heat for melting while preserving its cold energy and recycling water.
This process enables snow reproduction without water loss or energy waste, reducing environmental impact and ensuring a more consistent snow quality throughout the year.

This innovative indoor snow gun creates high-quality snow using only air and water—no chemical additives—for a pure, eco-friendly experience.
The SD500 is engineered with exceptional effi ciency in energy and water use, making it ideal for indoor ski facilities. This technology allows snow to be produced at any time of year, supporting a responsible and sustainable future
for snow sports.
SnowWorld proudly operates two electric XELOM snow cats, embracing the future of zero-emission, high-performance vehicles. Designed with cutting-edge technology, these snowcats deliver exceptional power, effi ciency, and minimal maintenance all while being eco-friendly.
SnowWorld collaborates closely with XELOM to test
and refi ne these innovative machines, ensuring they excel on slopes and meet the highest standards for sustainability and user experience. Together, SnowWorld and XELOM are advancing a new era in snow grooming: quiet, effi cient, and designed for peak performances.
Currently, 50% of our fl eet consists of hybrid vehicles, yet we aim for more: to be fully electric by 2028 for our entire fleet, both cars and snow cats.
Most of our locations are already equipped with charging stations, and within a few months, all sites will be fully covered.
This also gives our guests the opportunity to charge their vehicles during their visit, encouraging them to drive electric. A step forward towards a more sustainable future!
Since January 2024, SnowWorld has been using the energy marketplace of Groendus, combining two wind turbines located in Flevoland with solar energy from our solarfarms to generate energy for SnowWorld.
Up to 80% of the energy needed for our biggest resorts are covered by wind and solar. Aft er only 11 months we already generated 8.844.339 KWh.
Currently, SnowWorld has over 23.000 solar panels installed on our roofs. In addition we are building a 30.000m² solar farm in our resort in Neuss.
This leads the way in not only using our roofs but also develop future solar parks on our grounds or parking lots.
At SnowWorld, our commitment to social impact within our ESG framework is rooted in empowering our people and creating accessible experiences for all.
We foster change by placing our team at the heart of our initiatives, partnering with local governments to open our slopes to those with fi nancial barriers, collaborating with SHOS to ensure skiing is accessible to individuals with disabilities, and proudly hosting a sports focused trade school within our facilities. This integration enables hands-on learning, internships, and work-study programs, building pathways for the next generation in sports and hospitality.
At SnowWorld, we believe that our employees’ happiness is the foundation of our success. To ensure we continuously foster a positive and engaging work environment, we actively measure employee satisfaction through the FanScan.
This innovative tool provides us with valuable insights into how our team feels and helps us take targeted actions to enhance their work experience.
By prioritizing our employees’ well-being, we aim to create a workplace where everyone thrives and feels valued.
