What is teambuilding?

Teambuilding stands for ‘creating a close team’ according to the Van Dale. But you can also divide the word into two: team and building. The word ‘Team’ is a group of people working together, and ‘building’ literally means building. This makes the word 'teambuilding': ‘building a group of collaborative people’.

Working together or collaborating?

We assume that these ‘collaborating people’ will actually work together, rather than working together. But just because you work at the same company does not mean you are a team. You can make excellent agreements, have clear communication and discuss matters in a focused way. Without being a team, but by being excellent collaborators, instead of working together.
