What is ice karting?

At IceKart Rucphen-Breda, you’ll take on the ice track in your kart. Of course, the goal is to be the first to cross the finish line on this track as well, but what does it take to do that? With the right technique, you can maneuver your way forward while drifting and overtake your competitors. In fact, speed is less important than the right technique.

The Ice Circuit

The 300-meter-long ice track is located in the 3,500-square-meter hall that is connected to the SnowWorld Rucphen-Breda slope. During each session, you’ll drift across the ice in ice karts for 10 minutes. One lap takes about 40 to 50 seconds, but the better your drifting, the faster your lap! Will you set the fastest lap of the day?

The Ice Karts

The light blue karts differ from “regular” karts in several ways. For example, the karts at IceKart Rucphen-Breda are electric, and their tires are studded. The studded tires give you better traction on the slippery ice track, which provides a significant advantage when accelerating.

What is drifting?

Drifting is a driving technique in which the driver steers the car through a turn in a smooth sideways motion. The driver intentionally causes the car to oversteer and then maintains this condition for as long as possible.

Speed: A Pitfall or Your Best Friend!

So you’ll find that it’s not speed that helps you through the turns, but rather the right drifting technique and good traction. And precisely because it’s more about technique than pure speed, ice karting is the perfect outing for everyone! Can you set the fastest lap time and claim that victory?
